Buying the Things You REALLY Want?
Part of the reason for saving is to buy the things you really want. What would YOU like to save for? A car, downpayment for an apartment after graduation, clothes for your first job? Use the worksheet Reaching Your Financial Goals to identify the things you want to buy, and come up with a plan to make it happen.

And use the worksheet The Case of the Disappearing Dollars to identify your “black holes, ” the place your money disappears to without your awareness. If we run out of money before the end of the month, it is often because of this black hole, lots of small expenditures that add up to a lot over a month, or even a year. By keeping track of your expenses and calculating the totals, you can figure out a source of money to start that savings account for the things you REALLY want.
